Jimmy Asher has been training Bird Dogs for the past 30 years, and has been
training professionally for the past 10 years. He also manages
a private quail preserve in North West Georgia. He has trained
bird dogs in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North
Carolina, South Dakota, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas and Hawaii.
Jimmy's philosophy is to link all the skills of a hunting dog
together into sequential training sessions to create the complete
hunting dog. The sequential training sessions integrates whoa,
fetch, handling, backing and steadiness around birds. The goal
was to create a program to produce the best possible hunting companion,
but it has also produced champions, such as Hall of Fame Ch. Macallan's Sunny Boy,
Ch. Asher's General and Ch. Sandwich Island Earl.
Throughout Jimmy's career as a bird dog hunter and trainer he
has willingly helped others with their dogs.
