Hall of Fame Champion Macallan’s Sonny Boy
We are most pleased to announce the 2006 induction of Macallan’s Sonny Boy into the Gordon Setter Field Trial Hall of Fame. It has been since 1997 that the last election was held, thereby giving adequate time to properly remember these great setter contributors of their breed. It has been almost as long for any significant American Field national championship to be held once the rotating championship disappeared from the national field trial circuit.
Macallan’s Sonny Boy (GA) is well known by all for reaching the top of Gordon setter achievements. His record shows a R-Up at the 1989 Region 18 Amateur Shooting Dog Championship; championships titles at the National Gordon Setter All-Age Classic (1989), the National Gordon Setter Open Shooting Dog Championship (1989 & 1993), the National Gordon Setter Amateur Shooting Dog Championship (1992); and various other top placements at all-breed American Field title stakes, including a Bill Conlin title win in 1989. He was also an AKC Field Champion and was owned by Jimmy Asher of Georgia.
